Georgian Wine Tasting Held in Berlin

Georgian Wine Tasting Held in Berlin
13.10.2026

To raise awareness of Georgian wine and support export growth, a Georgian wine masterclass and tasting was held in Berlin, Germany, with financial support from the National Wine Agency and organised by the Agency’s contracted marketing company, ff.k Public Relations.
The presentation of Georgian wine was led by sommeliers Willi Schlögl and Johannes Schellhorn, with the participation of two Georgian winemakers, Iago Bitarishvili (Iago’s Winery) and Mikheil Chonishvili (Chona’s Marani). Guests had the opportunity to discover eight Georgian wines. Sommelier Willi Schlögl will add three Georgian wines to his bar’s regular menu for one week, providing an excellent opportunity for German consumers to discover and taste Georgian wine.
The National Wine Agency began cooperating with the German company ff.k Public Relations in 2021 to promote Georgian wine and increase its export potential. As part of the campaign, tastings and seminars are held in various German cities for wine professionals, wine trade representatives and consumers; Georgian wine is showcased at international exhibitions; targeted advertising and media campaigns are conducted; and wine tours to Georgia are organised for media representatives, sommeliers and sales professionals.
Germany has shown a growing trend in Georgian wine sales. From January to September this year, approximately 1.14 million litres of wine were exported from Georgia to Germany, an increase of 28% compared with the same period last year.
