Nearly 7 000 winegrowers in Kakheti have delivered their grape harvest.
At this stage, of the 100 thousand tonnes of grapes processed, nearly 70 thousand tonnes meet high quality standards, while only 0,7% of the entire harvest consists of poor-quality and unripe grapes.
The grape harvest in Kakheti is at its peak: nearly 14 thousand tonnes of grapes were processed over the past 24 hours.
The state-owned Harvest Management Company is accepting grapes from winegrowers at 22 locations.
To ensure an organised harvest and the sale of the entire crop, the Government of Georgia has decided that, in the event of a surplus harvest, every winegrower will have the opportunity to deliver their grapes. For this purpose, Harvest Management Company LLC is accepting grapes grown in Kakheti from individuals under the established conditions:
The price per 1 kg of Saperavi with a sugar content of at least 20% is 1,50 GEL; from 16% to 20% - 1,00 GEL; and below 16% - 0.50 GEL.
For Rkatsiteli and other wine grape varieties, the price for a sugar content of at least 19% is 1,30 GEL; from 16% to 19% - 0.90 GEL; and below 16% - 0.50 GEL.
The grape delivery process is coordinated by the Harvest Coordination Center located in Gurjaani. Information concerning the harvest is available via the following hotline numbers: 1501 and 032 2 19 37 18.
