The Grape Harvest in Kakheti Traditionally Began in Dedoplistskaro Municipality
To date, approximately 2,700 tonnes of grapes have been processed across Kakheti. The grape harvest is progressing gradually throughout the municipalities of Kakheti, in accordance with grape ripeness and the required quality parameters.
At this stage, 230 wine companies are registered with the Grape Harvest Coordination Centre. This year’s forecast harvest is approximately 320,000 tonnes.
To ensure that the grape harvest is conducted in an organised manner and that the entire crop is sold, under a decision of the Government of Georgia, every winegrower will be able to deliver their grapes in the event of a surplus harvest. For this purpose, the Harvest Management Company LLC will purchase grapes grown in Kakheti from individuals in accordance with the established terms.
