The National Wine Agency is joining the Independence Day events in Ambrolauri with the concept “Georgia – the Homeland of Wine.”
As part of the events dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia, the National Wine Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is represented in the city of Ambrolauri with the concept - "Georgia - Homeland of Wine".
Organized by the government administration, Georgia's Independence Day is being celebrated across the country with various events. The festive space on the new Ambrolauri Boulevard features visual and informational materials related to the history and traditions of Georgian wine and grape culture. An educational and entertainment area is set up for children, and local folklore ensembles are giving a concert.
10 wine producers from the Racha and Lechkhumi regions are participating in the event and offering guests the best local wines.
The event dedicated to Independence Day will be attended by Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency, and representatives of the local government.
„This day unites us all and is a symbol of the freedom and unity of the state for each of us. Independence is our most important achievement and a necessary condition for the development of the country. The winemaking sector also makes a significant contribution to the economic development of Georgia. This year is special because we are celebrating the 1700th anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion. It is Christianity that has defined the identity, beliefs and values of our nation, which, despite many trials, has brought us to today's free and developed Georgia,"stated Levan Mekhuzla.
At 17:10, the historic moment of Georgia's declaration of independence will be solemnly celebrated, with the Georgian national anthem performed by the ensemble "Suliko" in Ambrolauri.
The event will end with a gala concert at the end of the day.
Organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, events dedicated to May 26 are also being held in the cities of Rustavi and Poti.
In connection with the 1700th anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion, this year's Independence Day events in Georgia are being held under the concept - "1700 years, faith strengthens us - love unites us."
