With the support of the National Wine Agency, 14 Georgian wine-producing companies participated in the London Wine Fair 2026.
The international wine and spirits exhibition London Wine Fair serves as an important platform for Georgian producers to identify new trade partners, promote Georgian wine, and increase export potential. Held annually in London since 1981, the exhibition is regarded as one of the leading events in the global wine industry. Traditionally, it attracts thousands of visitors from around the world, including wine professionals, importers and distributors, trade representatives, and members of the media.
The exhibition was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Ilia Darchiashvili. Georgian wine producers also received support from the Embassy of Georgia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in presenting their wines at London Wine Fair 2026.
As part of the exhibition, Sarah Abbott, Master of Wine and Head of the National Wine Agency’s UK contractor Swirl Wine Group, conducted three Georgian wine presentation-tasting sessions for wine professionals.
The United Kingdom is one of the world's largest wine-importing and wine-consuming countries and has been identified as one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine since 2014. Through the National Wine Agency’s consistent cooperation with Georgian wine producers, it has been possible to establish a sustained growth trend in Georgian wine exports to the UK market. In January–April 2026, up to 116.5 thousand litres of wine were exported from Georgia to the United Kingdom, representing an 18% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
