Georgian Wine Presentation Held in Tokyo

Georgian Wine Presentation Held in Tokyo
15.04.2026

A presentation of Georgian wine was held in Japan’s capital, Tokyo, led by renowned sommelier Taku Iguro. As part of the event, Taku Iguro conducted a special seminar on Georgian amber wines, followed by a wine tasting in a “walk-around tastingformat.

With the financial support of the National Wine Agency and organized by its contractor marketing company Red Bridge, a series of Georgian wine tastings and seminars - held as part of a “roadshow” - took place in the Japanese cities of Sapporo, Sendai, and Tokyo from April 7 to 13.

These events contribute to increasing awareness and promoting Georgian wine, while also providing Georgian wine-producing companies with a valuable opportunity to connect with potential partners and wine professionals in a single space.

Japan is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. The National Wine Agency has been cooperating with the marketing company Red Bridge since 2017. This partnership includes the implementation of various marketing activities aimed at promoting Georgian wine in Japan. The primary objective of these efforts is to raise awareness of Georgian wine in the Japanese market and, consequently, to increase demand.

The Japanese market is characterized by a strong demand for high-quality products and a growing interest in authentic and distinctive flavors. In this context, Georgian wine, with its diverse profiles and traditional production methods, holds a significant competitive advantage.
