"This year has been very successful in promoting Georgian wine. The Asian direction is particularly noteworthy, including China, where Georgian wine exports have increased significantly. After the Covid pandemic, there was a significant decline in this country, and this year, for the first time, an increase in Georgian wine consumption has been recorded," said Tamta Kvaliashvili, Head of the Marketing Department of the National Wine Agency.
As for next year's plans, according to Tamta Kvaliashvili, activities aimed at promoting Georgian wine will become even more large-scale and active in the strategic markets of Georgian wine.
"We continue to work actively in Poland, where our main goal is to enter and establish ourselves in the premium segment. We are also actively working in the German market, which is one of the most stable export markets. The German consumer is quite open and receptive to new products. In Germany, we are running a consumer-oriented sales growth campaign, which involves the appearance of "Georgian Wine Shelves" in wine chain stores, which will become more active and large-scale next year. We are actively working in Great Britain, as well as in the US market, which is very important for us, where we changed our strategy this year and focused on the consumer, because wine professionals in the US have already accumulated considerable knowledge about Georgian wine. In the USA, we participated in many local consumer-oriented festivals, where we presented a Georgian stand. We will continue this direction in the USA. Our goal is for consumers and professionals to hear more often about Georgian wine in the media, as well as at festivals and exhibitions," said Tamta Kvaliashvili.
With the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency, in order to increase the export potential of Georgian wine and diversify markets, in the past period of 2025, Georgian wine was presented at 36 exhibitions-festivals and about 300 tastings-seminars in the USA, Europe and Asia, in a total of 20 countries. Within the framework of the "State Program for Promoting Georgian Wine Products on the Local Market", 37 exhibitions-festivals were held in Georgia. 18 wine tours were held in Georgia for foreign wine professionals and media. These activities are carried out within the framework of the "State Program for the Promotion of Georgian Wine", which was determined at 17.4 million GEL this year.
